Our Cabin was almost at the top of the mountain between Gatlinburg and Pigion Forge. This one was called Lazy Dayz and had a sauna, hot tub & pool table. The fireplace was cozy at night when it got down to the low 30’s.
Emily walking to the car with the goodies. We shopped til we dropped and managed to finish 80% of our Christmas shopping. There’s lots of outlet shops and gift stores and I was happy to spend money there instead of Walmart.
We drove around looking at the Christmas lights before retuning to the cabin for the night.
Emily had to stop the car so we could all get a picture of the grist mill on the hill.
The toy soldiers are on the side of the road in Pigion Forge which is the home of Dolly Parton.
This is what greets you as you come into downtown Gatlinburg. The lights get you in the holiday spirit.
The whole town is ablaze in lights. This is the perfect way for us to get in the mood. Things get hectic from here on out so we enjoy getting an early start on things.
One of the hundreds of little gift shops.
Driving down the main strip.
I didn’t get any pictures in the daytime of the leaves turning but they were in full glory. We were too busy shopping and didn’t venture out to the woods this time. Cades Cove and the national forest are beautiful and we did that last year making a whole day of it hiking and taking pictures. Maybe next year we’ll do it again.
Peace and Love,
Val
P.S. This time next year we’ll only have a month and a half left until a new president takes over!!!
