Day 3 NMRC memphis
The photo above is the breakout session for Middle Tennessee. Several folks from the farm (summertown) were there including Eliz Barger. Chris Lugo (our former senate candidate for the green party also.)
Our assignment was to come up with ideas of things we can do when we go back home. We reported back to the whole room (several south eastern states)
at the end of our session.
A few things we came up with...

Several are planning to caravan to Washington D.C. the last week in January to protest. (I’ll post details next week if anyone wants to join them)

There’s a meeting in the spring of progressives that are getting together at St. Ann’s Church in Nashville. (I’ll post more about this in my upcoming events page soon)

The women in media session was inspiring and it was generally agreed upon that we need much more diversity in the next convention.

Women and lesbian women in media need more voice, more representative speakers on panels and more networking accessibility. I met some other lesbians in the room and we agreed to meet tomorrow for an impromptu gathering to exchange e-mails at least. One of the speakers said it took over a year to get the one panel that was at this year’s conference.

Late this afternoon there was a film screening that covered LGBT and how we’re portrayed on TV/ It was a sequel (and update) to her previous film. Several lesbians were there and continued the discussion of more inclusion during the Q & A after the film.

Take Action now to stop big media.

Peace & Love.
