Jen turns 21 and Brenda’s bike ride

Jennifer has reached the grown up age of 21. She celebrated the occasion here at the farm and brought several girlfriends from school. Several “potluck mamas” from Nashville who are friends of ours and have known Jennifer since she was a little baby came too.

Emily and I have a lot of fun when Jen brings her friends around. It’s good to keep up with how the next generation is doing. It keeps us young and gives us hope about the future. They’re great, smart & they really are aware of a lot of how things are in the world today. The one on the left is a vegan and studying environmental biology I think. The one in the middle has a huge mind and who knows how far she’ll go with it. I thinks philosophy is her biggest interest right now. The one on the right is fun and sweet and kind. These are some of the faces of who we will be turning this world over to someday. Knowing these great kids and others I know it will be in good hands. Maybe we could fix it a little more before we dump it all in their lap. That would be good.

I can’t imagine riding all over Tennessee on a bike but to Brenda it’s fun. OK...When I say I want to get in shape I still don’t think I’d be able to do this.
