L-WORD is back!

Well the wait is over and our favorite lipstick lesbians are back on showtime every sunday night. Emily and I went down to the Tribe (Gay club on Church St) to hang out with the lesbians and watch the premier.
A few links to sites buzzing about the new season....

2007: THE YEAR OF THE LESBIAN

That's right girls, 2007 was simply made for you - at least that's the trend in the 2007 television line-up. So what do my Sapphic sisters have to look forward to in the new year?

'The L Word' - Showtime Season Four Premieres on January 7

While fans may still be mourning the death of Dana at the end of season three, there's much to celebrate in season four as a number of heavy-hitting actresses join the bounty of beautiful boobalicious babes. Whom, you ask? Two of The Telly Nelly's favorites, in fact: the Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin, and small-screen icon, Cybill Shepherd. Color me impressed!

'Lesbian Sex & Sexuality' - here! TV First Two Episodes Premiere in January

This five-part miniseries is all about the steamy side of lesbians. Could lesbian bed-death be a thing of the past??? Let's hope so, the world needs more lesbian babies. (I never did quite get the hang of the whole reproduction thing.) The second two episodes will become available in February with the finale airing in March.

'Bad Girls' - LOGO New Series Premieres on February 3

Bad girls, bad girls, whatcha gonna do? LOGO has picked up all eight seasons of this hard-hitting British drama focusing on the inmates and officers of a naughty London prison. (Think "OZ" but with more female bits.) Very tense and sexually charged, this 'new' series should rapidly become a favorite of girls who like girls. (Sounds a wee-bit scary to me¦I could barely sit through the "Charlie's Angels" episode when the girls went to a female detention center in the South. Crikey!)

'X's & O's' - LOGO New Series Premieres Spring 2007

This new lesbian "dramedy" (that's a comedy drama, naturally) will premiere on LOGO in early 2007 though a specific date has yet to be set.

'Curl Girls' - LOGO New Series Premieres Summer of 2007

Born out of the success of a one-shot documentary, this six-part series follows a group of lesbian friends in Southern California who create a surfing competition. Expect much surf, sand, sass, and sex!

I’m heading to Memphis for the National Conference for Media Reform this weekend. Tune in next week for highlights and interviews from activists fighting to stop a few big companies from owning and controlling all of the public airwaves & media markets in the U.S.
