My 14 year old lab that died just before Emily & I finished building the house at Avalon Farms. A friend (into dog rescue with connections at the pound) was able to have his body cremated for me when he died last fall and I kept his remains to bury in the yard at the new house. He loved coming to the farm and it seemed fitting. I planted an apple tree yesterday in the yard and placed his ashes underneath it. He loved eating apples that I fed everyday to my parrots. He was a great dog and today I have a new lab named Elvis that makes me smile and reminds me of Ben every once in awhile.
